The Summer Sessions office will be closed for the holiday break beginning 12/23/24 and will re-open on 1/2/25.
Summer Sessions Housing
Living on campus has never been more convenient!
When taking Summer Sessions, you could live on campus and just be a few minutes away from your classes. Since financial aid is available, it’s affordable and convenient to live on campus! Options include traditional residence hall rooms for short term stays or campus apartments if you’re a current tenant.
Beginning May 16, you can apply for a housing space for the summer.
Who is eligible for summer housing?
Continuing UCR Undergraduate and Graduate Students
While all UCR students can apply for summer housing, any students already living in campus apartments who renew their lease for the next academic year get both July and August payment-free! The lease renewal period is January 23-30 for current apartment tenants.
Incoming UCR Undergraduate Students
There may be summer classes that appeal to incoming first year and transfer students so housing is definitely available. However, you will likely need to relocate to a different campus housing assignment for the regular academic year, if you intend to live on campus for regular sessions classes.
Visiting Students From Other Campuses
If you’re currently studying at another University of California campus or studying at a non-UC campus, you’re also eligible for summer housing, as long as you’re taking Summer Sessions here at UCR.
You won’t be able to reserve housing for the summer until you’ve been accepted into Summer Sessions and been assigned a UCR NetID, which you will use to access the MyHousing portal.
